BIOGRAPHY

Lisa Barter is a nurse practitioner and registered nurse.   Her primary interests are family medicine and reproductive health.  Lisa’s interests in primary care stem from her experience in labor and delivery and emergency medicine where she saw the impact a lack of primary care can have on the health outcomes of individuals.  She follows the holistic model of health that views a person from a state of physical, mental and social well-being not simply from a medical/disease perspective.

Lisa is a wife and mother to two beautiful boys and a proud member of the Metis local.  In her time off she enjoys spending time with her family, enjoying our beautiful trails, soccer and yoga.

Land Acknowledgement Juniper Naturopathic Clinic acknowledges that we are operating this business on Treaty 8 land. This land is the traditional territory, gathering place, and meeting grounds of the Cree, Dene, Dane-zaa, and Métis. We acknowledge that we are settlers on this land and we deeply respect the courage and strength of Indigenous peoples. We would like to honour the role Indigenous people have taken on for thousands of years as environmental stewards and we would like to show the same respect for the environment. We acknowledge that much of Naturopathic Medicine’s understanding of herbal medicine and other treatments is owed to the knowledge and wisdom of Indigenous peoples. We are grateful for the opportunity to practice medicine, learn, and work on this land.
